Volleyball going strong this season

Jackson College vs. Kellogg Community College - Oct. 3

Jets volleyball defeated the Bruins of Kellogg Community College 3-0 Oct. 3 at Jackson (26-24, 25-19, 25-16).

Lindsey Lehman was high scorer for the match with 13.5 points, the only Jet to score in double digits.


Jackson College vs. Lake Michigan College - Sept. 26

Jets volleyball overcame Lake Michigan College 3-1 there on Sept. 26 (25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-15).

The Jets came out strong offensively, with four players scoring in double digits – Lindsey Lehman (15), Aleea Coulter (14), Sydney Delong (13), and Camryn Ward (11).


Jackson College vs. Grand Rapids Community College - Sept. 24

Grand Rapids Community College defeated Jets volleyball on Sept. 24 in the Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse (25-13, 25-14, 25-19).

Sydney Delong was high scorer with 6 points (4 kills, 1 ace, 2 block assists), and Taylor Hutchinson was second highest scorer with 5 points (5 kills).


Jackson College at Lansing Community College

Jackson College's volleyball team dropped a game to the Lansing Community College Stars Sept. 12, 1-3 (16-25, 16-25, 27-25, 9-25). The Stars outperformed the Jets offensively, with four players scoring in double digits. Leading scorers for the Jets were Sydney Delong, Camryn Ward and Aleea Coulter with 7.5 points each.


Jackson College vs. Schoolcraft College

Friday the 13th proved to be good luck for the Jets volleyball team as they topped Schoolcraft College 3-0 (25-8, 25-6, 25-15) at the St. Clair County Community College Invitational. Sydney Delong was the high scorer for the game with 14 points, with Lindsey Lehman adding 10.5 points.


Jackson College vs. St. Clair County Community College

The Jets topped the home team in the second game of the day, defeating St. Clair County CC 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-17). Lindsey Lehman was the high scorer with 11.5 points, followed by Sydney Delong with 10 points.


Jackson at Muskegon Community College

Jets volleyball came out strong in this first set but dropped the next three in their match against Muskegon Community College Sept. 17, losing 3-1 (25-22, 13-25, 15-25, 13-25). Sydney Delong was the high scorer for the day with 10 points.


Kalamazoo Valley CC at Jackson College

Jets volleyball held on through five sets in a win over Kalamazoo Valley CC Sept. 19, 3-2 (25-15, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25, 15-9). High scorer for the match was Alyssa Fowler with 14.5 points.


Jackson College Jets volleyball is 2-1 after the first week of MCCAA Conference play.

The Jets opened the conference season Sept. 3 with a 3-0 win at Kellogg Community College (25-18, 25-19 and 25-23). Sophomore Lindsey Lehman had 9.5 points on the day and 33 total attack attempts, while sophomore Camryn Ward scored 6.5 points.

On Thursday, Sept. 5, the Jets dropped the game to Glen Oaks Community College 0-3 (16-25, 22-25, 21-25). Glen Oaks had two players score in double digits, for total points scored of 55 compared to the Jets 41. Sydney Delong was leading scorer for the Jets with 8.5 points and 38 total attack attempts.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Jets won over Ancilla College 3-0. Full statistics yet to come.
