Women’s soccer 2-1 so far this season

Jets women's soccer is off to a strong for the 2018 season, with two wins and one loss so far.

On Aug. 26, the Jets faced the Ancilla College Chargers in Indiana and brought home a decisive win, 5-0.  The Jets scored 3 in the first period and 2 in the second.

Katie Brown scored an unassisted goal at the 21-minute mark to the put the Jets on the board. Skylar Gilbert scored at the 36-minute mark with an assist from Cameron Kelley, and two minutes later, Amy Scruggs scored unassisted. Brown scored her second goal of the game at the 57-minute mark, with an assist from Kayler Beech, and Elena Vazquez scored at the 68-minute mark with an assist by Renata Cunningham.

On Aug. 29, a second-half goal by the Schoolcraft College Ocelets at Ocelet Field snatched victory from the Jets women's team. The Jets and the Ocelets were tied 1-1 at the end of the first, but Schoolcraft's Sara Izaguirra scored at the 75-minute mark to take the victory.

The Jets Skylar Gilbert scored Jackson's goal at the 38:20-mark, with an assist from Kate McElhone. Goaltender Polek took the loss.

The Jets are 2-1 on the season. They travel to Iowa Saturday to face Illinois Central College at 3 p.m.
