Jackson College 84, Muskegon Community College 75

The Jackson College Jets women's basketball team won their conference opener Thursday over Muskegon Community College, 84-75.

The Jets were down in the first two quarter for the game, but came back to lead in the third and had a big final quarter, scoring 29 points. Guard Arjanae Morgan was leading scorer with 21 points, going 7-14 from the floor with 4 rebounds. Guard Marissa Shaw scored 20 points with 5 rebounds. Also in double digits for the Jets were guard/forward Charyanna Pershay with 13 points and 14 rebounds, and guard Bre-Aira Burton with 12 points and 6 rebounds.


Jackson College 58, Grand Rapids Community College 39

The Jets women's basketball team got a big win over the Grand Rapids Community College Raiders in their second conference game Saturday, winning 58-39.

Leading scorers were guards Arjanae Morgan with 17 points and Marissa Shaw with 16 points. The Jets pulled ahead in the first quarter 16-5, but Grand Rapids held them in the second and third quarters, 9-9 and 10-14. The Jets came on strong in the final quarter, 23-11, for the win. Guard Charyanna Pershay also hit double digits, scoring 10 on the game.

The Jets women are 2-0 in the MCCAA Conference. They will face Lansing Community College on the road at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
