Jackson College welcomes Taylor Hutchinson, 2018 graduate of Onsted High School, to the 2018-19 women's basketball team.
Hutchinson was a standout in both basketball and volleyball at Onsted High. She was first team all-league in basketball both her junior and senior years, and first team all-league in volleyball her senior year. Basketball honors include all county in 11th and 12th grades, second team all-league and honorable mention all-county in 10th grade, and honorable mention all-league in ninth grade. Volleyball honors include all-region and all-county first team in 11th and 12th grades, all-state honorable mention in 12th grade, second team all-league in 10th and 11th grades, and honorable mention all-county in 10th grade. She hit the 1000-point mark in a game against Clinton, and scored 1,056 overall throughout high school.
In the classroom, Hutchinson maintained a 3.5 grade point average throughout high school. She chose Jackson College, she said, because it was close to home and she felt welcomed by the coaches.
"We are excited to have Taylor join our team. She is a talented local player that has led her team offensively and defensive," said Heather Brown, JC Jets coach.
