Jackson College's softball team is getting ready for a big weekend as they prepare for the NJCAA Great Lakes District A Quarterfinal Tournament. Action kicks off at 1 p.m. Friday at Lansing's Ranney Park (3201 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. No fan limit).

The Jets are 30-12 overall for the season, 23-9 in the MCCAA Conference. They are the No. 3 seed going into districts and will face Lansing Community College at 1 & 3 p.m. Winner must take two; if necessary, a third game will be played at 5 p.m. The Jets have faced the Lansing Stars four times this season, winning 3 out of 4.

"Thus far I am pleased with how well we have played this season. We have a very talented group of student-athletes and I know they are hungry to make their mark in the history books this year," said Coach Jamie Vandenburgh.

The championship will be played Monday at the higher seed school.
