Jackson College softball signed two players for next year's team on Feb. 6, the National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

  • Maebel Robeson is a senior at Dexter High School, where she played varsity softball all four years of high school. She has participated in travel softball since she was 10 years old. She hopes to enter the medical field, and has participated in the SNAP Club and fundraising for Mott's Children's Hospital. Robeson said that after touring the Jackson College campus, it felt like home.

"Maebel is a utility player that we are very excited to add to our 2019-20 roster. She has a solid bat and will look to play middle infield our outfield," said coach Jamie Vandenburgh. "Maebel embodies the values of our team and after getting to know her, we knew she would be a great fit."

  • Jaymi Boldt is a senior at Lumen Christi High School, where she has earned All-Conference softball honors and has a school record for most homeruns in a single game (3). She is also a member of SADD, Students Against Drunk Driving. Boldt said she wanted to play softball at Jackson College because she liked the team atmosphere and the competitiveness of the girls on the team.

"Jaymi will be a great local addition to our team," Vandenburgh said. "On her visit, what stood out to us the most is the strength of her bat. She has a good swing and hits the ball hard. We think Jaymi will make a positive impact on the roster next year."
