Jets cross country runs at championship; Hanson brings home medal

Congratulations to Jackson College men's and women's cross country runners with a strong showing at the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 12 and Michigan Community College Athletic Association Championships Saturday, Oct. 28 at Grand Woods Park, Lansing.

For the women, runner Sarah Hanson, from Vandercook Lake, earned a medal for placing in the top 15. In the women's 5000 meters, Hanson ran a lifetime best, 20 seconds better than her previous best time, finishing up in 12th at 20:09.4. Runner Madison Dunlap, of Napoleon, ran a lifetime best at 21:44, taking more than 30 seconds off her previous best and placing 30th overall.

For the men, runner Kelvin Kellk, of Morenci, and Clinton Kiprop Too, of Lansing, both had strong races. Kellk finished the men's 8000 meters in 29:18.1 for 43rd place, and Too was right behind him at 29:22.0 for 44th place.
