Men's soccer at top of MCCAA in early season

Jackson College men's soccer are first in the MCCAA after four games, with a 3-1 record.

The Jets only loss came Aug. 28 against Muskegon Community College, 3-2. Samuel Lebbie scored the Jets 2 goals in the game. Goalie Felipe Cerda took the loss.

Jackson came back Wednesday, Sept. 4, with a 2-1 win at Schoolcraft College. Scoring for the Jets were Lebbie (assist from Eliya Budugure) and Dalton Hageman (assist from Lebbie). Goalie Felipe Cerda received the win.

The Jets topped Ancilla College Saturday, Sept. 7, 3-1. Scoring were Gonzalo Bocaz, Lebbie (assist from Budugure), and Braden Kosmet. Goalie Cerda received the win.

Morton College vs. Jackson College

Sept. 2 at Jackson College

Jackson College Jets women's soccer went to 0-2 in conference play this season with a loss Monday to Morton College, 3-4.

The Jets and the Panthers were tied 3-3 at the end of regular play, pushing the game to overtime. Morton College's Martha Olague scored at the 92-minute mark, with assist from Jackie Murillo, to put Morton ahead and given them the win.

Scoring for the Jets were Cameron Kelly with assist from Elena Vazquez; Vazquez with assist from Jayla Perkins; and Katie Brown with assist from Julissa Torres. Goalkeeper Katarzynia Polek took the loss for the Jets; she had 4 saves on the game.

The Jets will face Iowa Western Community College Friday at 3 p.m. on their home field.

Jackson College's men's soccer team scored a decisive shutout victory over Lake Michigan College Aug. 24, 5-0.

Samuel Lebbie, sophomore forward for the Jets, scored 3 of the Jets goals, with two assists by Aladdin Almallahi and one by Eliya Budugure. Alec Carroll scored with an assist from Dalton Hageman, and Hageman scored a goal unassisted. Goalkeeper Felipe Cerda take the win for the Jets.
