Jets' soccer teams heading to regional tournaments!

Congratulations to the Jets men's and women's soccer team for both gaining a berth in the NJCAA Region XII Tournament. The 2017 tournament will be hosted by Schoolcraft College on Oct. 28 & 29.

Women's Soccer

The Jets women's soccer team finished the season with a 4-6 conference record, and a 6-7 overall record. "Our season has gone well and we are looking forward to being competitive in the Regional tournament," said Andy Hosmer, head coach. "Our first round match-up will be Muskegon who we defeated by a score of 4-1 and then lost to by a score of 3-1, so we're very comparable. If we should prevail we will most likely face the sixth ranked team in the nation and host of the tournament, Schoolcraft. We saw marked improvement between the first and second meetings with them this season, and we hope to put together a game plan that will allow us to bring home a regional title."

Men's Soccer

The Jets men's soccer team finished the regular season with a 3-5 conference record, and a 3-9 overall record. "Our season was plagued with adversity and we would have liked to have seen a different record on paper," said Dan Bulley, head coach. "Despite that, the guys have been mentally strong and creative every game. We feel as though we should have won a few more games based on our offensive ability. This all bodes well ahead of our regional quarter final.

"We still have one regular season game to play that will determine who we will face in regionals. We are quietly confident that we could make a few waves in the tournament but know we have to be at our best against very good opponents. We will be preparing for Saturday's regular season game and will hope to go into next week's tournament with confidence."
