Jets’ bowling teams take Conference championships!

Congratulations to the Jets women's and men's bowling teams, the 2022 MCCAA Western Conference champions!

For the 2021-'22 season, the women won five of the six tournaments, and the men won three of the six. The women were just six pins from being undefeated. The men had a battle up until Friday's tournament, vying with Kellogg Community College for top honors. Friday's win put them in first place.

"I'm very excited for our team," said head coach Steve Sears. "It's gone well. We have bowlers who are developing well. They listen at practice and apply what we have worked on into our tournaments. I'm very happy with the success that these kids have displayed in putting together what happens at practice into the tournaments."

Each week, conference coaches choose Bowlers of the Week players. The Jets have netted five honors this season. For the women, honorees include Kathryn McArthur, Marissa Wood and Kaylee Hall. For the men, honorees include Lane Kellogg and Toby Tyler.

Both teams will compete at the MCCAA/NJCAA Region XII Bowling Championship Friday, Feb. 18 in Lansing at the Royal Scot Lanes.

"We look to bowl well for Jackson College, the Jackson area, and all who follow us," Sears said.
