Congratulations to the Jackson College Jets men's basketball team on their win Tuesday over the Lake Michigan College Red Hawks, 112-88.

With the win, the Jets will head to the NJCAA District 9 Tournament semi-finals at St. Clair County Community College, March 8-10.

"The game went great. A 112-88 home playoff win! We can't complain about that," said Marshawn Norris, Jets coach. "The team's strength was their will to win. They focused in and did what needed to be done to ensure a victory."

The Jets players did a good job getting the defensive stops and getting out in transition, Norris said. "When we do that, it's hard for us to lose, especially at home," he said. Holding the lead was at times a struggle, especially when the score was up and they thought they could relax, but they came back together. "Once my guys realized that there was still there was still a lot of time left in the game, they refocused and did what they had to do."

In their first-round semi-final game, the Jets will face Grand Rapids Community College at 1 p.m. Thursday at the St. Clair Fieldhouse. "I am beyond excited for Thursday's game and matchup against GRCC. I'm excited for the sophomores to be able to play more games and have a chance to earn more interest from four-year programs. Championships and scholarships, that's what we play for."

All tournament action will be live streamed via video (no audio) online at www.sc4athletics.com.
