Men's Basketball add four to 2016-17 roster

Jackson, MI - Michael Bruce, Tarrence Crumpton, Devaughn Munson and Dorian Watson recently signed their National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intents to join the men's basketball program at Jackson College.

"I am extremely excited to add these young men to our team," commented head coach Carl Thomas. "Each of them bring a special talent and are team players."

Michael Bruce

High School: Ypsilanti Community High School

Graduation Year: 2016

Mascot: Grizzlies

Athletic Honors: All-Area Honorable Mention as a Junior and 3rd Team All-Area and All-State Honorable Mention as a Senior.

Jackson College Coach's Comments: Mike is a good student athlete, and is a jack of all trades on the basketball court. He rebounds, defends, as well as makes the hustle plays it takes to win games. He also can score in transition, and is a good mid-range shooter. He will play both guard and forward for the Jets.

Tarrence Crumpton

Height: 6'8" Position: Forward

HS Coach: Julian Taylor

Hometown: Saginaw, MI

High School: Saginaw High School

Graduation Year: 2016

Jackson College Coach's Comments: Tarrance is a hard working athletic forward that we are excited to have as a student athlete in our program this year. He is good in transition and with his length, should be Devaughn Munsonm protector for us.

Devaughn Munson

Height: 6'0" Position: Guard

HS Coach: Waleed Samaha

Hometown: Ann Arbor, MI

High School: Ann Arbor Huron

Graduation Year: 2016

Mascot: River Rats

Academic Honors: Academic All-State Team

Athletic Honors: All-Conference, Team Captain

Jackson College Coach's Comments: Devaughn is a solid student-athlete that is a great addition to our JC Family. Devaughn was a leader as a point guard at Huron High School, in Ann Arbor, that should be able to transition into that here at JC as well. Good pick and roll player on offensive and is also really good on the ball defense.

Dorian Watson

Height: 6'3" Position: Guard

HS Coach: LaMonte Stone

Hometown: Southfield, MI

High School: River Rouge

Graduation Year: 2016

Mascot: Panthers

Academic Honors: Honored by the Principal for being student of the month several times during the school year.

Jackson College Coach's Comments: Dorian is a good student athlete, who is going to bring a high basketball IQ to the Jackson MBK program. He has college ready size and the ability to play both guard positions.
