Jets alum signs with White Sox, joins professional baseball

Congratulations to Jets baseball alum Eric Hildebrand, who is moving on to professional baseball after signing as a free agent for the Chicago White Sox!

Hildebrand, a right-handed pitcher, played a year for the Jets (2018-'19) and the last three for the Purdue University Boilermakers, lettering each year in the bullpen. While at JC, he had a 5-1 record with 56 innings pitched, 62 strikeouts, 26 base-on balls and a 2.80 ERA.

"I'm really excited to be a part of the White Sox organization and to have an opportunity to play at the next level," Hildebrand said. "I am incredibly thankful for all the players and staff I've met at both Jackson and Purdue to help me reach this goal."

Hildebrand will start his rookie season in Arizona.
