Michigan Community College Athletic Association sophomore pitcher Blake Higgins selected on the third day of the Major League Baseball draft. Higgins was taken in the 16th round today by the St. Louis Cardinals. The 6' 6" right hander pitched in just six games this season, starting three with a 2-0 record and two complete games.  He threw 23.2 innings, allowing seven hits, six runs, all earned, walking 18 walks and striking out 40 batters. He posted a 2.28 ERA on the season. He was taken on the 485th pick of the draft.
