NCCC wins a pair in Michigan

Niagara County Community College won a pair of road games against tough MCCAA opponents this past weekend, improving to 11-0 on the season. The Thunderwolves are next in action at 5 p.m. Wednesday when they visit the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville.

Niagara CCC 72, Jackson College 58

The T-Wolves built up a 20-point lead at halftime before withstanding a second-half rally by the Jets. Sophomore Kenetria Redfern led NCCC with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while classmate Shilah Parker and freshman Paige Emborsky each netted 15 points. Sophomore Cori Dickson added 14 points and six assists in the win.

Niagara CCC 82, Henry Ford College 67

NCCC jumped out to a 22-8 lead after the opening stanza before holding off a rugged Hawks squad. Redfern again scored 19 points to go with 10 rebounds, while Emborsky had 15 and Dickson finished with 14 points and five assists. Freshman Molly Mahony came off the bench to record 14 points and 10 boards in the victory.
